Hey everyone, congrats to Amanda & Devon coming all the way from New Zealand for a beautiful Calgary wedding!  So almost 10 years ago when I worked at Blockbuster Video, I hired three people… Amanda, Devon & another Amanda.  I married one of them and Devon just married the other one.  It was so much fun to spend a week with them, my sister & boyfriend and other great friends still living in Calgary.  I do love Winnipeg but certainly miss Cow Town:):)  It was a beautiful day for a wedding and thanks so much for inviting me down guys… enjoy!

So it was between this one and about 50 other photos that I love, it was so hard to pick a favourite! I love this one, because I feel like it is the epitome of our happiness. This is how we truly feel when we are together. I would also like to inform everyone that reason I am laughing so hard is after we assumed position Curtis says, “Okay Chris, whisper in her ear.” Chris’ response was “sweeett nothings…” which was said as he would describe it “velvety, soft, smooth. voice.” In my opinion it was creepy. Thank you Curtis for making our wedding, rockbooth and entire marriage experience absolutely wonderful. We hope to remain friends in the future!

A Memorable Moment…

The first time I came down the aisle, Chris absolutely lost it (keep in mind I was solid up until I saw him do the ugly cry) then I broke down too. This was one of the most emotional experiences we had ever had together and I will never forget it. In part of the ceremony Chris started to cry really hard during the reading of his vows. At this point I offered to go first, I then encouraged him to finish as he only had four more lines left and dabbed at his tears which was met with a laugh by everyone. It was a wonderful moment.

Jewellery/Accesories…

From my grandmother, has been in a safety deposit box since I was a baby waiting for this day.

Hair & Makeup…

Hair – Vilma Apsit who runs a hair studio out of her house

Make-up – Krystle at Hair Ink in Oakbank Manitoba

The Groomsmen…

We were happy to have Erik (Chris’ brother) as well as Brian (Laura’s brother), Kodi, Justin and groomsMAID Chelsey. The boys wore tuxes from Tip Top and received scarves as thank you gifts.

The Bridesmaids…

Laura’s maid of honour was Ronnie, with Leandra, Ashley, Leslie and Bridesman Matt. The ladies wore dresses from Helene’s (also designed by Alfred Sung) with pashminas and matching jewellery they received as thank you gifts.

Wedding Favours…

With our winter wonderland theme I really wanted to incorporate penguins, so after much time googling “penguin wedding favours” (there is lots of options!) I found a lady on etsy.com who made these really cute penguin stone magnets that she hand stamps. We ordered them and they turned out beautiful.

The Flowers…

Dawn from Willow Lane in Oakbank constructed our flowers. The bouquets were truly stunning and unique. She used a mixture of flowers as well different sparkly things to “make them look icy” If you look carefully at the ladies bouquets you will notice icicles hanging off the bottom of them. She is truly an artist with a passion for creating unique designs. She said she was going to come up with something beautiful so we had no idea what it was going to look like until we picked them up. I would trust her to do flower arrangements over and over again!

The Cake…

Shelly from Hot Cakes made our cake. It was not only stunning but absolutely delicious! We chose gingerbread cake to go with the season and I think she put magic potion in it, it tasted so good! The cake toppers were actually salt and pepper shakers that belong to a collection my grandparents own the sentimental value was so nice to have, and they went beautifully with the cake.

Invitations & Stationary…

The wonderful Jeff and Veanne Hudson, who own Poplar Press in the RM of Springfield, have been friend’s with Chris’ family for many years and generously offered to print all our invitations for us. They did a beautiful job, and we could not be more thankful for their friendship and love.

Food & Drink…

St. Charles Country Club provided a delicious meal of prime rib as well as many other delicious goodies.

The Honeymoon…

Chris and I took off to Banff for 6 days. It wasn’t far, but we had a great time checking out the wildlife (insert terrifying/awesome stag experience), eating way to much at the Fairmont brunch, and “relaxing” at our resort.
