Events by Emma – The Wonderful Winnipeg Wedding Show!

Hey everyone, last month I was asked to photograph some booths by Events by Emma and other vendors at the Wonderful Winnipeg Wedding Show.  Did you attend?  What a big show hey!?!  Lot’s to look at and Emma dished up some amazing eye candy!  Check out some of the wicked arrangements and colors below:)  With some help with Floral Elements and Planned Perfectly it looked beyond awesome.  Emma and her team are always a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait for all the good times coming this year!  Thanks so much Emma!

Marina & Wade – From Russia with Love – Married!!!

An amazing winter wedding, with an amazing couple and an amazing crew of wedding professionals… how could I ask for anything more for Christmas!?!  Check out Marina & Wade Married!  They met a couple years ago when Wade was in Russia for business and shortly after that he hired her as a Russian translator (It was so cool listening to her and her family speak all day!!)  Shortly after that, they were engaged and here we are:):)  Such a fun and awesome couple.

So this wedding was a perfect example of how plans can change and how important it is to adapt and be prepared for anything!  We had such a great crew for this wedding… The awesome Rebecca came along to shoot with me… Sean from A Moving Pictures Studio was here for video and he brought along Bond from BLF Studios to assist.  On top of all that we had Andrea from Soiree Event Planning running the show… check out the reception decor… amazing!!!  It was so cool and exciting to work with everyone all day!

They had a later ceremony scheduled at 4pm that led right into the reception and only 15 to 20 minutes of photo time after the ceremony… yikes!!  This wedding was a perfect candidate for a “first look” and photos before the ceremony.  That was the plan until the morning of, but in the end Marina & Wade really wanted a traditional wedding and not to see each other until the church.  “No Problem, let’s have some fun today” I said.  So instead of a couples session we had a fun bridal session with Marina at Level 3 Studios and some good times with the boys at King’s Head Pub.  What a beautiful winter ceremony at St. Andrews United Church… Andrea from Soiree did such an amazing job of that too.  Right before the reception we had only 15 minutes to capture some photos of the two love birds together… so we hit the streets for some beautiful winter photos:)  The reception at the Radisson was a blast… great food, great decor, Russian dancers and the Rockbooth… Great times!  Thanks so much everyone and especially Marina & Wade… Congrats!!!!

Check out their album pre-design… I can’t wait to show you the actual album… amazing!!!  (coming soon)

Events by Emma – Fire & Ice!!! – The Fairmont, Winnipeg

Last week I had the privilege of capturing an awesome event design from Events by Emma at the Fairmont Hotel here in Winnipeg.  The theme was Fire and Ice… very cool!!! (and hot!!!)  It was a very neat kitchen party for some of the staff at the hotel.  Emma and her team rocks!!! I am so excited to have a couple weddings with her next year and probably more to come.. here is one couple you can look forward to in 2010… Melanie & Rowell.  Check out some other works by Emma and her team from the last year… awesome, cool, wicked :) :)  Thanks Emma for inviting me and thanks to the Fairmont for being great hosts!

The theme for this time of year for details seems to be dark… how do you photograph that???  With some high ISO and no fear!  Capture the light that is important to the theme of the event and the photos will tell a great story.  A flash would have muted the rich blue and red colors so the plan was to go natural.  Here is another dark event from a few weeks ago with Soiree Events.  I’ll share with you another cool detail trick on my next wedding post:):)  Thanks and Enjoy!
