Hola friends! I’m currently lucky enough to be in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to capture Lindsay & Jason’s big day coming up this Thursday. We are staying at the Dreams Resort and Spa… beautiful! Yesterday was of course Valentines day and Lindsay & Jason wanted some group shots before dinner. Since we had some time (and beautiful scenery), I suggested some speed sessions with all the lovely couples:):) So each couple got about 10 minutes to (try) to be themselves, LOL! I just love the expressions on their face as I begin to prepare them… a little nervous. Well, they all did great and what an awesome group of friends they brought with them:) I do remember all their names but won’t even attempt spelling so maybe later. Thanks for being good sports everyone and stay tuned for more! Enjoy

Hey blog fans… I awoke to more snow falling this morning but at least it’s the big fluffy pretty kind… thankful to be inside:):) Check out the wonderful Michelle & Jay! I photographed these two back with Michelle’s family in 2009… such a great family and was so excited when Michelle expressed interest in assisting me for the 2010 season. First, what a great couple! Not quite engaged yet but I certainly have dibs on any future wedding event that may happen:):):) Second, what a amazing year I had with Michelle along side me at almost every wedding. We both agree that our wedding day commentary would make for a hilarious TLC show, LOL!
For others interested in starting or growing their own photography business or skills… second shooting/assisting is the best place to start. Seriously… ditch school kids… nothing better than hands on experience in the line of fire. So how do you start? How do you choose? What do you do? What are the rules??? There are many resources on this topic online… the best I have seen can be found at the [b]school and the DWF forum. It just so happens that my good friend Kenny Kim tweeted some very important words of wisdom just this morning… “If u want 2 assist/2nd shoot 4 a photog, helpful tips: 1.Build a relationship b4 uemail. 2.Get their name correct. Mine’s Kenny not Kim.” So true… establish some actual relationships with photographers or other wedding vendors in your community first. Ask questions and find out exactly what you are interested in. That’s a good starting point and the list of good practices go on from there.
Michelle turns out to be all that and a bag of crackers… seriously, I forget to pack a lunch sometimes and she always shares her crackers, LOL! She has an amazing talent and I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store for Michelle & Moore Photography. Thanks Michelle (and Jay) for all the help, hard work and inspiration in 2010… enjoy!

Hey everyone, check out a very adorable Anytime session I had last week with Shannon & James! They travelled in from out of town and she booked me months ago. They have three wonderful children and Shannon really wanted a session with just the two of them. At the time she booked me, they had no idea that a third little person would be joining us for the shoot, LOL! Congrats you two and thanks for the fun session! Enjoy!
